We are deeply sad to announce that we have recently lost a fellow earth angel who has now transitioned into a heavenly angel. Leona Hunter — a mother, a grandmother, a fighter, a light, our spiritual sister — was one of our cancer warriors. She played an important role in the community and to all of us at Angels of Las Vegas.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, she came to us for our services and eventually volunteered her time to our organization in between her chemotherapy treatments. She was the one who created and led our weekly Circle of Hope group, and provided inspiration and hope to her fellow warriors. She created our virtual support group so our Angel Warriors had a safe space to connect, grow, share victories and struggles, and lean on each other in the trenches.
